Welcome to Keeping Your Republic, a page that focuses on the "action" part of We the People.
The highest level of sovereignty in America lies with the individual citizen. This is why the true American way of life is one of personal responsibility and freedom; freedom to succeed as well as freedom to discover how not to do things (freedom to fail). However, our freedom can only be maintained through the engagement of the people in THEIR government and those who WE have elected to represent and protect OUR freedom. From the very beginning, after extensive deliberation, our Founders intended a country to be "kept," not by a King, Dictator, or Aristocracy, rather the consent of the governed (We the People). That was what made America unique from any other country in the world. Our freedom can only exist in a country where the people have personal responsibility (self rule), moral character, and principles. Without these, we do not deserve our liberty. Without holding accountable our government to the design and intent of the Constitution, the human nature of greed for money, power, and control will naturally take over, because nature abhors a vaccuum. Of course, it would be much easier to rely upon the government for everything, but there is no shortage of countries throughout the world that provides this oppressive way of life. In fact, that was the reason our founders left England. But America was different and has become the most prosperous and free country in the world. But our freedom is not free. In exchage for it, it is the responsibility of the people to engage and keep accountable the government. In short, IT TAKES CONSISTANT AND VIGILANT WORK TO REMAIN FREE. That's what the first 3 words of our Constitution mean.
Below, you will find tools and information to equip you to perform your responsibility as a free American, to INSPECT what you EXPECT from those who you have elected. However, before you begin, you must first know what you stand for and who you are. Below, you will find the tools to do exactly that.
