Ben Franklin knew the importance of strength in numbers when he famously said,
“We shall all hang together; or most assuredly, we will all hang separately.”   

Fast-forward to today. Florida Oath Keepers still agree with this sentiment. Hence, the introduction of our CPT, our willingness to stand with Liberty County Sheriff, Nick Finch, and now our honor to stand alongside Burnie Thompson.

Burnie is no stranger to the Florida Oath Keepers. He has been a strong ally and friend who himself took the oath to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. He proudly served as a U.S. Air Force Captain.

Always passionate, but never rude, Burnie brings clarity to complex issues without getting caught up in the thick of thin things. His comments on current events are strikingly original, succinct and compelling … underscored by his concerns as a father of two young girls; his affinity for classic movies and literature; and his experience as a former U.S. Air Force officer.  

Burnie reminds politicians to expand freedom and protect the family budget from government plunder. He is fed up with snoops, busybodies and thieves masquerading as public servants – and calls them out by name, often debating them on the air. They soon realize that his allegiance is to principle over partisanship.  The Burnie Thompson Show gives Americans a place to link arms and make a difference.  In the past, Burnie has personally linked arms with Oath Keepers to make that stand. And, as you’ll see, he’s not afraid to do what’s right and face the consequences.


Burnie Thompson is NO "Sunshine Patriot"; but rather a man of truth and honor.  When faced with the option of losing his job or telling the truth, Burnie did not flinch. “We have to do all we can to restore this Republic. It won’t be painless and comes at a cost. I accept that.”  For the first time in his 8-years on Talk Radio 101 (WYOO), Burnie was given a gag order by the station. The owner told him not to criticize his U.S. Representative Steve Southerland (R-FL) by name because it would help a Democrat get elected.

Burnie is a former U.S. Air Force Captain and he continued to demand that Southerland remove his name as a co-sponsor of the Enlist Act (HR 2377), which would put illegal aliens in the U.S. military and give them permanent legal status. Burnie says this is wrong for many reasons, but it is especially reprehensible when nearly 100,000 Americans are being cut from our military.  Known for his relentless efforts to champion Constitutional values, Burnie had become a serious problem for Southerland’s reelection effort in the upcoming midterm election.  After receiving tremendous political pressure, WYOO fired Burnie on August 1, claiming that his ratings had plummeted 40 percent.  However, facts are stubborn things. The bi-annual Nielsen Ratings came out just three business days later. And the latest Nielsen Ratings - the time period cited for his termination – indicated that Burnie's show doubled Rush Limbaugh's ratings, head-to-head in the prime demographic (25-54), at his flagship station in Panama City, FL.  "That’s not because I'm better than Rush; it's because when you listen to Limbaugh, you're a spectator," Burnie says. "When you listen to our show, you're a participant. We link arms every day and do our best to expand freedom and protect the family budget. And even if the odds are stacked against us, that doesn’t absolve each of us from doing all we can together."

It’s clear that Burnie wasn’t fired for poor ratings. He has been WYOO’s star performer since 2007. In fact, Burnie spent his first four years hammering his-then U.S. Representative Allen Boyd (D-FL). Nobody did more to help Southerland get elected than Burnie.
While Southerland has changed his tune since being elected, Burnie stayed true. In fact, ever since Burnie took to the radio in 2007 he has not flipped on a single issue. That’s because he’s mastered the issues, and believes in Liberty to his core.
The power players who knocked Burnie off the air were startled when billboards popped up all over town as he immediately launched his Internet Radio Show. “The truth will have its day!” Burnie insisted.  Burnie says www.MyFreedomRadio.com is “something you can believe in.”

 says Burnie.
Burnie has a history of taking a principled stand, like when he fought to get little Marissa Amora the money the state owed her for the DCF’s negligence that led to her brutal assault that left her with severe brain damage.

Or when he explained the Boot Camp case to us and it played out in the courtroom the same way.
Or when he chipped away at the 7-term seemingly invincible Congressman Allen Boyd, who eventually was voted out. Burnie led the biggest rally in Bay County history in that monumental effort to get Southerland elected.


“Ultimately, I was protecting the Office of Sheriff and its Constitutional authority against the encroachment of our Governor and a rogue State Attorney. And we fought to restore the election of Liberty County. Thank God we won!

Ironically, Sheriff Finch had traveled to WYOO and was the very last guest on the very last segment of Burnie’s radio show on that station. The moment the show ended that Friday, August 1, Burnie was fired.
 

When was the last time you lost your job for standing on principle?
